Willy Bagg, Octet’s General Manager, is an experienced and motivated executive with degrees in Commerce and Accounting. Willy is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA, qualifications which are ably supported by extensive entrepreneurial, general management and financial experience gained through working in a variety of industries in the USA and Australia.
He has significant experience in the acquisition, financing and strategic management of growing businesses, and works with companies to optimise their working capital cycles.
Prior to Octet, Willy worked in specialised forensic accounting and business advisory organisations and has also held senior management positions in professional services, manufacturing and distribution businesses in the USA and Australia. He has also had significant teaching experience and has lectured in finance at university level in California.
Willy has been involved with Octet Finance from its initial conceptualisation phase through to implementation and says "The initial challenge was to design and develop a unique facility to assist Australian importing companies financially and operationally in their ever growing dealings with China. However, in the space of only three years our offering has dramatically expanded. We can now offer our Business Transaction Facility to finance imports spanning a whole range of countries, domestic purchasing facilities and an all encompassing sales transaction funding facility."
Having worked with SMEs throughout his career Willy certainly appreciates and understands the importance of successful businesses having additional finance available to fund growth. Willy travels to China and the USA for Octet and currently leads the Victorian team from Octet’s Melbourne office, focusing on new business activities. Although he qualified as an accountant, his subsequent MBA majoring in marketing is proving to be extremely useful in his current role.
